7.3 3 – new things and old ways – will old tactics work with mobile technologies? 9 years, 5 months agoNew mobile technology will work with old tactics:
-Mobile learning initiatives should lead to changes in the teaching strategies.
-The teachers should be trained to integrate mobile learning in their instructions.
– They must learn how to use mobile technologies to change teaching and learning.
-When mobile learning programs are implemented in s…[Read more] -

7.3 3 – new things and old ways – will old tactics work with mobile technologies? 9 years, 5 months agoTo think that old tactics will work with mobile technologies is to deceive ourselves that a leopard will change its spots entrust the keeping of our goats with him.We certainly need to work very hard and fast to integrate mobile devices into our learning system because for now they are here to stay and we should make the best use of them to…[Read more]

7.3 1 – old things and old ways – dedicated technology venues 9 years, 5 months agoHi members I conducted the internet search for images of computer labs in relation to doing old things in old ways. I have then realized that, the kind of activities that are possible in these venues that would not be as easily achieved in high density computer labs are the following:
• Computer lab lessons e.g. on Google drive
• Computer lab rul…[Read more] -

7.3 3 – new things and old ways – will old tactics work with mobile technologies? 9 years, 5 months agoBulamba ans Martin group C. Hello members these are some of our exploitation of ( new things and old way)
The introduction of subsidiary ICT in secondary schools is a initiative by the Uganda government but its not smoothly moving because of the limited facilities like computers, whiteboard, rooms and etc. We believe that most schools still use…[Read more]

Very true , one computer, some times they even have more but they only use the devices in the classrooms. We have not thought of learning beyond classroom walls. And this takes us back to old basket.e

I wish to agree with Mr. Bulamba that the current way mobile technologies are integrated in teaching is like doing new things in old ways. The very old pedagogies are still being used to teach using the mobile devices. However, I see good potential for learning using the mobile devices if pedagogy can be changed to suit the new wave of mobile…[Read more]

True Martin and Sulaiman. The unwillingness of teachers to let learners use their personal devices in studying which by the way could be more efficient than the one computer in class makes it difficult for them to fully infuse technology in their teaching.
It could be that they are not well grounded in the integration of ICT in the teaching and…[Read more] -
the technology tools used in schools, what i have noted that the teachers have not realized their potential. they simply don’t know what they can do (the extent)

Flipped Learning
Flipped Learning is a form of blended learning where students learn their lessons at home by watching video lectures and studying content online, and then doing their homework in class. Basically instead of learning directly from the…[Read more] -

7.3 1 – old things and old ways – dedicated technology venues 9 years, 5 months agoHi members to me, I do believe that we are looking at old things in old ways in relation to the use of technology. This then mean that old things in old ways imply doing what we have been doing many years ago in the same way but using technology. I do mean to say that doing things with technology the way we have been doing without technology. To…[Read more]

Yes Esther, it’s true those are the same things we were doing without technology and still what we do with it. As long as there is no fundamental change, then we are just substituting as in the SAMR model!!
-
so long as the attitude is changed and we wholesomely welcome technology, nothing is impossible.
-
True Walter we need to show that technology is relevant and very important in the teaching/learning process.

7.3 2 – old things and new ways – one technology device in the classroom 9 years, 5 months agoHello members, The question I think that should also be researched about is; What are the factors that stand in the way of our making more and faster progress in technology adoption in classrooms?
