The introduction of subsidiary ICT in secondary schools is a initiative by the Uganda government but its not smoothly moving because of the limited facilities like computers, whiteboard, rooms and etc. We believe that most schools still use the old approaches of a single computer for the whole school, which limits technology integration. This is part of examples of new things and old way,
The SESMAT project for science subjects were a teacher uses only one laptop to demonstrate a topic to one hundred and more
learners, no internet and at times some rooms do not have power.The misuse of Laptops, desktops, and handheld devices in teaching. Most teachers now days have devices, but they use them for data storage,and leisure. They do not think of exploring the endless technologies from them.
Most people now days use smartphone, but they do not explore their technologies apart from calling and receiving.

Very true , one computer, some times they even have more but they only use the devices in the classrooms. We have not thought of learning beyond classroom walls. And this takes us back to old basket.e
I wish to agree with Mr. Bulamba that the current way mobile technologies are integrated in teaching is like doing new things in old ways. The very old pedagogies are still being used to teach using the mobile devices. However, I see good potential for learning using the mobile devices if pedagogy can be changed to suit the new wave of mobile devices in schools.
True Martin and Sulaiman. The unwillingness of teachers to let learners use their personal devices in studying which by the way could be more efficient than the one computer in class makes it difficult for them to fully infuse technology in their teaching.
It could be that they are not well grounded in the integration of ICT in the teaching and learning. It would equip them with skills for classroom management while using technology to teach
the technology tools used in schools, what i have noted that the teachers have not realized their potential. they simply don’t know what they can do (the extent)
