7.3 1 – old things and old ways – dedicated technology venues 9 years, 7 months agoI would ask the following questions:
What technical skills do teachers require in order to be effective facilitators in low density computer labs?
What precautions need to be considered when using low density computer labsIn what ways can teachers make their lessons engaging and interesting in these venues?
What would be the appropriate role…[Read more]-
Thanks Nellie, can you put them in the wiki and then edit? I think it may be easier to edit from there where we can easily see repetitions and make amendments. Who is your partner in the home group?

Thanks Prossy. Esther Aryemo and Fiona. Let me get there.

Thanks Nellie for those wonderful questions? What we think of other techology tools to supplement the few available computers?
-
the ways are very many to make pupils engaged. but it depends on what is to be learned
-
True Wandera and Twaha. That is what the teacher has to be on top of things. He needs to be flexible enough and knowledgeable enough to know what technology tools that work.
-
Yes Nellie and we need to teach ourselves how to handle issues regarding challenges with computers like using free resources

7.3 3 – new things and old ways – will old tactics work with mobile technologies? 9 years, 7 months agoHello memebers , Julius and Patricia this is what we have highlighted about new things and old ways.
Straight away to answer the question will old tactics work with mobole technologies, the truth is no. New things will work best when the approaches are also changed. As also Elliot Soloway states “I’am petrified that we’ll apply new technology…[Read more]

I agree with you Julius that the old pedagogy can not work with the new technologies. Over 2000 years ago Jesus Christ said “new wine can not be put in old wine skin; but new wine is for new wine skin” The mobile revolution in schools poses a potential for learning only if we can use the devices not to mechanize and standardize learning, but to…[Read more]

Take about breaking the walls project, mobile devices if planned for and integrated in our teaching /learning activities can go along way demystifying the myth of the classroom as being the only place where learning takes place
-
there is a lot of wasted learning space in schools

phones are even prohibited in most schools is not all schools, apart from tertiary institutes and universities.

7.3 2 – old things and new ways – one technology device in the classroom 9 years, 7 months agoThe learners can explore the internet information on their own and gather more information about a topic.
Even in their groups, they could still be encouraged to start up their own libraries of information on topics or tasks assigned to them by their teachers. -

7.3 2 – old things and new ways – one technology device in the classroom 9 years, 7 months agoWith only one technology device in class, the teacher can still go ahead and put the learners in smaller groups and allocate each group enough time to use the device. The device would therefore have to be shared and a schedule has to be put in place that all groups should adhere to.
