7.4 Technology Group 9 years, 5 months agoTechnology is changing the way in which we view learning spaces and the personal learning environment of our students because students surf the Internet, Tweet, use Facebook and come up with lots of learning material that a teacher may fail to find single handed for his learners. We as teachers at school need to allow our learners to explore the…[Read more]

7.4 Construction group 9 years, 5 months agoConstruction is still largely dictated by “teacher in classroom” scenario. With devices like tablets, all that may be necessary is a rooftop to guard against rain!

This ok with me as well. Yes teacher based on whatever approaches teacher intended. My feel is that we insist on a kind architecture that will prevent not only the rain but dust, wind noise etc.-
I would consider that for the existing hardware but would advocate for virtue learning spaces the way to go. more so this wiuld involve parents more in learning. Simply because some parents dont want their childrento access Internetbecause of fear to adopt bad cultures. But if Principal informs all parents about the Virtual school learning…[Read more]

7.4 Technology Group 9 years, 5 months agoThe contradiction of learners engaging and learning with technology away from school, only to be told to put away their technologies at school in order to “learn” should be seriously addressed and resolved.
-
That comes with a lot of sensitization and it begins with us the converted.
-
Sure Emma, but it may not come easily just like Patrick notes, a lot of sensitization to many stakeholders.

This resource illustrates how blended learning has been given a new face and a new outlook: Digital classrooms are not a supplement to the physical classrooms; instead, digital platforms should be seen as the key to expand the learning environment…[Read more] -

This site explains how two teachers and their students use technology (Chromebooks, GAFE, digital resources) to break down barriers and do things otherwise not possible. According to them learning is not about answers, but about thinking and working with others in…[Read more]-
I think this resource will enrich our understanding on breaking the walls concept.

in fact once this is put into practice. the coaching and cramming of answers so that students pass exams will come to an end.
-
Students are given opportunity to lead their teachers with their knowledge and interest in reaching beyond the classroom.

7.4 Technology Group 9 years, 5 months agoThis is about how a teacher in the UK and his class passed out of the 4 walls of their classroom in a new and exciting way using technology. A real experience! Through Connecting Classrooms Community they were able to connect to a class in Brazil. later on the teacher in Brazil used a classroom ‘card’so that the students in UK were visually…[Read more]
