7.4 Construction group 9 years, 5 months agoPhysical space must be changed because schools are still very much constrained by some of the following issues:
1. Working conditions: such as optimal lighting or ergonomics for sitting, writing, reading or listening, are not sufficiently addressed;
2. Purchasing decisions and location of new technologies: often constrained by district…[Read more]-
From the link given i have actually learnt that space designed to allow for several activities is reason to give learners chance to carry out more projects compared to the traditional set-up.

Yes, there is a lot of collaboration when learning using technology. The sitting arrangement in the classroom needs to be constructed to support the collaboration which is a key characteristic of learning using technology. There is also need to structure the classrooms with power sources that will supply the technology during use.

From the shared link, I get points that emphasize factors that limit the adjustment and redesigning of learning spaces. True and they are common to many of our school situations.
However we need to share information on what basis or factors do justify the need for the learning spaces to be redesigned at certain points Jackie. What is your take? -
Thanks for the observation! There is need to improve on those areas highlighted which all encompass physical environment if we are make headway in technology integration.

7.4 Construction group 9 years, 5 months agoPhysical spaces need to be constructed for effective technology integration. Students need adequate space if we are to guide them on task and also when sharing with others. Collaboration is not only online but also physical and socially

Thank you Jackie,
I come in to say that actually human dynamics are key to work space design. -
I do agree with you Jackie with this. In reality allowing room for both online and physically interactions by any kind of design is itself flexibility. We have to think through plans and settings that allow more of these adjustments gradually.

7.3 4 – new things and new ways – what do emerging trends show us 9 years, 5 months agoEmerging trends show us alot about technology use and learner engagement. Some of the trend are:
Flipped Learning
Flipped Learning is a form of blended learning where students learn their lessons at home by watching video lectures and studying content online, and then doing their homework in class. Basically instead of learning directly from the…[Read more] -

7.3 4 – new things and new ways – what do emerging trends show us 9 years, 5 months agoTablet Computing.
There is an increasing inclination towards Tablet computing, which presents new opportunities to enhance learning experiences in ways simply not possible with mobile phones, laptops or desktops and is especially suited for one-to-one learning environments. High-resolution screens allow users of tablets, such as the iPad and…[Read more]-

Education systems are increasingly investigating the use of technology to better understand a student’s knowledge base from prior learning and to tailor teaching to both address learning gaps as well as learning styles. This focus transforms a classroom from one that teaches to the m…[Read more]-

7.3 4 – new things and new ways – what do emerging trends show us 9 years, 5 months agoThese technologies have become a pervasive part of everyday life in much of the world, and are growing everywhere. Students have ever-increasing expectations of being able to work, play and learn on these devices whenever they want and wherever they may be. Once banned from the classroom in some developed countries, mobile devices and apps are…[Read more]

How do we improve the contemporary in thing of reflective practise in a digitally enhanced learning space?
What are the available modern devices that we could deploy in this endeavour?
What software is most suited for this reflective practise in a digitally enhanced environment?
